Subzero wind chills possible in Pittsburgh region over next week

Clouds increase this evening ahead of the next system that will bring the chance for scattered snow showers to the area Monday morning. There is a good deal of dry air in place which could limit snow band formation however there is a chance for snow in the area for the morning commute which could reduce visibility in spots, coat roads and create slippery or icy travel. Snowfall amounts should be light from a coating to 1″ with some isolated spots up to 1.5″ north of I-80 and in the ridges and mountains. Make sure to allow extra time, extra distance between vehicles and use caution when traveling.

Another blast of arctic air will follow this front, temperatures will start to drop Monday afternoon with much colder air settling in at night. Tuesday and Wednesday highs will only make it to the upper teens with subzero wind chills expected. Snow showers are possible again on Tuesday afternoon and night.
