CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that a major step in completing the construction on the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge will begin on Monday.
ODOT announced that the first of the custom steel girders required to stabilize the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge were officially sent on their way to Cincinnati from Bowling Green, Kentucky on Sunday morning.
The department said it expects the girders to arrive by Sunday afternoon, and installation will begin early on Monday morning. ODOT said it expects installation to last through the week as more girders arrive, and that additional steel reinforcements will arrive on Thursday.
ODOT acknowledged the continued frustrating traffic issues in the Cincinnati and NKY area due to the bridge’s closure, and said that it has “made adjustments to traffic signals on both sides of the Ohio River.”…
