It took Antonique Flemons eight years of soul searching to decide the University of Kansas was the place for her.
Flemons, a 32-year-old junior, lived across the U.S. before making her way back to the Midwest, where she grew up. As a nontraditional student, Flemons uses her life experience to foster spaces for young women to have important conversations about topics like safety, fair housing, consent and personal expression.
