SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga Bulldogs finished their second full week of conference play with wins over San Diego and Washington State, moving them to 5-0 in conference play. They are now ranked No. 16 in the country and tied for first place in the WCC with Saint Mary’s.
The Zags battled through an illness that head coach Mark Few said caused many players to miss practice, with Michael Ajayi missing the San Diego game due to illness.
“We had a flu bug kind of go through the team. And as a coach, you’re always waiting to get the text or the call from the trainer to see who has it next and who’s out.
