Michigan’s cage-free egg law leaves Allegan store shelves barren

ALLEGAN, Mich — Signs of a new era can be seen at The Grocery Outlet Store in Allegan. Shelves where their eggs usually are currently stand empty.

“I think yesterday, my manager texted me and she said, We are officially out of eggs,” said James Hocking, co-owner of the Allegan grocery store.

Michigan’s new law requiring all eggs sold in the state to be cage-free has created somewhat of a curve for buyers…
