On August 20, 2024, state police received reports that donations had been stolen which were intended for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), a non-profit organization. The ensuing investigation revealed that Gorman had allegedly collected donations in the form of cash and checks throughout 2024 on behalf of the NMSS and reportedly deposited them into several of his own bank accounts.

According to investigators, Gorman is accused of never forwarding the funds to the NMSS, resulting in his arrest on January 9. He was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud.
