APD requests help identifying man involved in east Austin robbery

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department’s Robbery Unit on Monday requested help identifying a man allegedly involved in a robbery at the Bread Basket convenience store in the 2200 block of East Cesar Chavez Street in east Austin, according to a news release from the agency.

The incident happened on Nov. 14 between 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., according to APD.

Authorities said the man entered the store and stole multiple vapes from a display facing the cash register. When the clerk tried to stop the man by grabbing the vapes from him, the man allegedly started assaulting the clerk. The man then left the convenience store and headed toward the East Second Street and Pedernales Street intersection…
