Several rural district closed for sixth straight day following winter break

WASHINGTON, Mo. (First Alert 4) — The children’s section was a popular place for some families looking for an outing during yet another snow day.

Wendi Jennings and her second grader, Jackson, were one of many families who stopped by the Washington Public Library after the school district cancelled classes, citing ice and snow on rural roads.

“He’s getting antsy,” Jennings said. “He wants to play with his friends. He doesn’t want to play with his toddler siblings.”…
