Troy Aikman doesn’t hold back discussing the Cowboys’ search for a head coach after moving on from Mike McCarthy

Troy Aikman isn’t afraid to call a spade a spade when it comes to discussing the franchise he won three Super Bowls with and Monday was no exception when he addressed the Dallas Cowboys’ search for a new head coach on live TV . “I thought Mike McCarthy would be the head coach, so this is a bit of a surprise for me today that he’s not going to be,” Aikman said on ESPN leading up to Monday Night Football. “It suggests that there’s not a real plan.” Aikman’s comments tie into the fact that it seems like the Cowboys intended to keep McCarthy around for the 2025 NFL season but failed to get a deal done mostly because of disagreements over contract length. It’s hard to imagine that he is.”…
