Vikings use hot perimeter shooting to beat Wheatland, 72-37

Oakmont’s varsity boys’ basketball team improved to 2-1 in the Pioneer Valley League and to 7-10 overall Monday night following a solid 72-37 win at home against Wheatland (0-3, 6-10).

The Vikings came out on fire from the perimeter, as Daiveon Parker hit a pair of threes in the first quarter, and teammates Elijah Stevens and Ian Johnston did the same coming off the bench, as the Vikings connected on six of their season-high 12 three-pointers in the first eight minutes of the game, taking a 20-13 lead in the process.
