Sunny skies and a high of 44 on Tuesday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A cold front came through late yesterday, and another will sweep across the state tonight.

Bundle up this morning! Temperatures will stay below freezing up to 10 am, and today’s high (44°) will be chillier than yesterday’s high (50°). It’s going to stay sunny all day, and sunny conditions will remain through the end of the work week.

Though skies will be briefly partly cloudy as the second front comes through around midnight, the rest of the night will be clear with lows in the upper teens.

A warm-up will begin at the end of the week, and temperatures are going to rise to the mid-40s on Thursday, and 50° on Friday.

Over the weekend a low-pressure system is going to approach from the west, bringing showers Saturday through Sunday morning. It will be cool, but temperatures are expected to stay above freezing so it’s an all-rain event. Saturday’s highs will be in the upper-40s, then drop to the mid-40s on Sunday.

A dramatic cold snap arrives as the new work week begins! Monday, highs are going to return to the mid-30s under partly cloudy skies…
