NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven gang member who admitted to murdering someone from a rival gang was sentenced to more than 20 years in federal prison Tuesday, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Quaymar Suggs, 20, of New Haven was sentenced to 250 months of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release.

Avery’s office said Suggs admitted to shooting and killing an 18-year-old associate of a rival gang on May 19, 2021.
