HENDERSON — Ten students graduated from Henderson ISD’s P.R.I.D.E. Academy in front of proud family, friends and teachers in a ceremony at the Henderson Middle School on Monday evening. The P.R.I.D.E. program is a non-traditional, academic alternative school providing a self-paced curriculum for high school students in Henderson.
“Each P.R.I.D.E. group that comes to us is different and they come with their own unique challenges,” said Montgomery Campus and P.R.I.D.E. Principal Holly Perry as she addressed the students. “It has been a fast and furious semester, but I truly believe each of you has benefited from the ups and the downs and you have come out on top. Here we are at your graduation.”
Perry, who has run the P.R.I.D.E. academy for three and a half years and known most of the graduates since they were in middle school, spoke of what an honor it is to play a small part in the final stages of these students’ high school careers…
