Tarrant County residents are reminded that the deadline to pay 2024 property taxes without incurring penalties is approaching. According to an announcement from Tarrant County, payments must be received or postmarked by Friday, January 31. The County Tax Assessor-Collector Rick D. Barnes emphasizes the efficiency of online payments to avoid the last-minute rush, advising taxpayers to “start the online process earlier in the month to avoid complications and not waiting until January 31st if at all possible.”

Taxes can be conveniently paid via the county’s official website with major credit cards and eChecks. While eChecks do not carry any additional fees, credit and debit card payments will incur a convenience fee charged by the service company. For those who prefer to pay by phone, a 24/7 service is available at 817-884-1110, with the full process needing to be completed before 11:59 p.m. CST on the due date to bypass penalties.

Taxpayers can mail their payments as an alternative to online and phone payments, ensuring they are postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service by January 31.
