“Steph Curry is at accepted stage” – Brian Windhorst believes Steph Curry gave up on improving the Warriors roster to protect the Dubs’ future

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said that he’s never heard a superstar talk like Steph Curry did after Monday night’s loss to the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena. After the setback, the Warriors fell below the .500 mark at 19-20. But instead of showing desperation, Steph Curry sounded like he was resigned to the Warriors’ fate. When speaking to reporters after the game, Steph said that the Warriors should not make desperate trades that will deplete the franchise’s future.

“It sounds like Steph Curry is at accepted stage. I can’t say for sure what conversations he’s had with their front office but my belief would be, he has communicated that to them as well that there’s no reason for you to go chasing something to fix a team that would be a desperate move,” said Windhorst.

Windy said that Steph’s statement was unusual for a star player because, at this point of the season, they would be begging their teams to make a move so that they could finish the second half of the year stronger and compete for a playoff spot.
