Greenville leaders reconsider new development rules, a month after approving

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Just over a month after adopting an ordinance to overhaul the county’s development regulations—leaders are pumping the brakes.

In a special called meeting Tuesday, Greenville leaders voted to reconsider the unified development ordinance or UDO.

“[We] can’t put a detour on [I-85]–they coming,” said Councilman Rick Bradley. “So we got to have places for them to live, but we have people who’ve been here all their lives. What gives us the right to infringe on their way of life?”…
