GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (WRGB) — Through an in-school banking program, elementary students in Glens Falls and Hudson Falls are learning that a little goes a long way.
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) has partnered with the two school districts to offer the program, teaching financial literacy to young learners. The program allows students to make deposits, open savings accounts, and tour HRCCU branches.
“It’s important to teach them at a young age about saving and budgeting. It’s something that they’ll need when they grow up,” HRCCU Glens Falls Branch Manager Crystal Holcomb said. “You’ve got to make it fun for them. It’s something that they enjoy – coming down every single week and picking a toy out of the treasure chest.”…
