Former Badcock executives Robert Ball and Matt Pridemore have joined forces to create Hometown Furniture, a new company that is transforming 30 former Badcock Furniture & More locations into new retail storefronts in the Southeast.
Ball is chief executive officer and Pridemore is chief operating officer of Hometown Furniture, which is partnering with 11 former Badcock dealers to open a total of 33 stores in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina and Alabama. With footprints ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 square feet, 30 of the 33 locations were Badcock stores that were impacted by the bankruptcy of parent company Conn’s.
“Some of those dealers either own or are leasing those properties already, so those dealers are taking those leases or the ownership of the property and transitioning it from Badcock to Hometown Furniture,” Ball told Home News Now. “We have identified strategic markets that we are going to be entering, whether it is an existing or previous Badcock location.”
