PLATTEKILL, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — State police arrested a New York City man in Ulster County last week following a traffic stop. James Harris, 40, is facing felony drug charges.

On January 8 around 2 p.m., troopers stopped Harris in his Chevrolet Cruze on I-87 North near Exit 18 in Plattekill after allegedly committing multiple traffic infractions. During the stop, Harris’ car was searched with assistance from an NYSP K-9.
State police reportedly recovered more than five ounces of cocaine from the vehicle. Harris was arrested at the scene and now faces the following charges:
- Second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance – class A-II felony
- Third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance with intent to sell – class B felony
Harris was arraigned at the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part Court being remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
