The city of Akron will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. the day before his official holiday with an event taking place at First Congregational Church of Akron (292 East Market Street).
This year’s theme is “Protect, Educate, and Nurture Our Children.” The two featured speakers are the Rev. Marc A. Tibbs of Centenary United Methodist Church and Pastor Deante Lavender of Remedy Church. In addition, there will be music from a choir of voices from multiple congregations and a presentation of The Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarships to local youth. The event is free and open to all…
