Family of man killed by police after he fired shots: ‘Y’all just killed him dead’

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A north St. Louis County family is coming forward a day after police killed a man who they say was firing shots into the air and at cars. His loved ones questioned that narrative from police and said the 37-year-old suffered from mental illness.

They’re telling their story on the very day police identified the man as Durrell Dorn. The St. Louis County Police Department said since lives were in danger, they had to do what they had to do the stop the threat. Loved ones wonder if there could’ve been a different approach.
