Fort Worth taps consultant to evaluate staff pay after push for minimum wage increase

Fort Worth will pay a human resources consultant up to $450,000 to evaluate and recommend changes to its current compensation structure, the city’s first comprehensive pay study since 2014.

The contract comes after union leaders and activists advocated to raise the city’s minimum wage to $20 last summer. While the campaign was unsuccessful, city officials decided to raise the minimum wage from $15.45 to $18 per hour in the 2025 budget.
