Grovetown Shooting: Police Capture Suspect in Apartment Complex Incident

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex in Grovetown, Georgia, officials reported on Wednesday morning. Isaiah Bautista, 20, of Augusta, was apprehended near Windsor Spring Road and Meadowbrook Drive while still in the suspect vehicle observed fleeing from the shooting scene. Grovetown Police stated that Bautista was found with a firearm at the time of his arrest and had multiple outstanding felony warrants from Richmond County and Reidsville, Georgia.

Bautista was taken to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center to address these warrants, and additional charges related to the shooting are expected. Investigators are continuing their work to identify a second suspect involved in the incident. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday at 5:02 p.m. in the 1000 block of Joiner Circle, Joiner Crossing Apartments. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
