LUBBOCK, Texas — Just before noon on Wednesday, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) found Richard Mercado, 34, who had been shot, after receiving a call for shots fired in the 12000 block of US Highway 87.
Upon arrival, deputies saw that Mercado was shot in the left leg. They applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg, and he was transported by the EMS to a Lubbock hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects left the scene heading south from the location.
