Since the company acquired Winn-Dixie last year, Aldi has kept quiet, for the most part, about which existing Winn-Dixie stores will be converted into the smaller, discount, no-frills grocery stores Aldi has become famous for. But the company has officially announced 21 new Aldi locations opening soon in 10 states. Five of them are in Florida.
Most of them have not yet announced official opening dates.
In March, Aldi finalized the purchase of Southeastern Grocers , which included about 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi, and announced an ambitious 5-year, $9 billion plan to add 800 stores nationwide through new stores and store conversions.
