Martin Luther King III honors father’s legacy with service at DC nonprofit

WASHINGTON (7News) — Ahead of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Martin Luther King III participated in a day of service at Food & Friends in Northeast Washington, D.C. He is the eldest son of the civil rights icon.

Wednesday, January 15, 2025, marks what would have been Dr. King’s 96th birthday.

Martin Luther King III and his wife Arndrea are activists who continue to keep Dr. King’s legacy alive through their community work and their non-profit the Drum Major Institute.

7News Anchor Michelle Marsh talked to the couple about their dedication to service and how they hope to inspire others to improve their communities…
