Louisiana needs more authority to deal with drone threats, some state officials say

Louisiana could see new legislation this year that would empower state law enforcement to electronically take down — or mitigate — drones, a task that is currently within the purview of federal agencies.

The idea for the legislation is backed by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the Louisiana Advanced Aviation and Drone Advisory Committee.
