CALIFORNIA, USA — A regional task force was announced combining the efforts of district attorney offices and law enforcement to aid in California’s retail theft crackdown.
Security footage from a Sacramento-area Raley’s grocery store highlights the ongoing challenges. Chelsea Carbahal, Raley’s vice president of Community Impact, said they see violence toward security guards, blatant theft and what they call large cart push outs — carts filled to the brim with things like Tide Pods that are later resold.
