CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Changes are coming in the forecast over the next several days, with rain on the horizon and then frigid temperatures will follow.
- Today: Lots of sunshine, cold start, seasonal end
- Saturday: First Alert: Rain in the morning, drier PM
- Next Week: Frigid! Highs 20s/30s, lows single digits/teens
Plenty of sunshine is in store again today. After a frigid start, we will rebound to the seasonal lower 50s for most neighborhoods east of the mountains. Tonight will be clear and cold with lows in the 20s.
Dry, chilly high pressure will hang on for Friday with sunshine and seasonal highs holding in the low to mid-50s.
A quick-moving storm system pushes our way at the start of the weekend with rain expected for the Charlotte area, though a little wintry mix is likely at the start and end for the mountains. A First Alert is up for Saturday, though most of the rain should push east of Charlotte by afternoon. Spotty showers could linger on Sunday, but the day does not look overly wet.
Saturday should make it back to the seasonal lower 50s followed by upper 40s on Sunday…
