There could soon be a solution for a problem intersection in Lackawanna County. One of the busiest and most difficult intersections for drivers in Dickson City is looking to get a facelift this year. Borough officials approved the construction bid for the more than $750,000 project that will widen lanes and add a traffic light at the Bowman and Main Street intersection. Borough officials hope that the project is completed by the end of 2025.
A busy intersection in the Poconos is about to get a whole new design. The intersection of Route 611 and 715 is known for congestion and traffic backups. Crews are clearing out trees. Soon, the Welcome to Pocono Township sign will come down to realign the two roadways. PennDOT officials say the goal of the $15 million dollar project is to ease congestion with the new signalized intersection. The project also includes widening Route 611 and bridge work on Route 715.
