Shamokin, Pa. — Central Susquehanna Opportunities, Inc. (CSO) has received a grant of $2,295 from International Paper for the distribution of essential hygiene products. The products will be given to low-income individuals and families in Northumberland, Union, and Snyder counties.
According to CSO’s most recent Community Needs Assessments, many social service clients are concerned about meeting basic needs. Sometimes, hygiene products are left behind as families need to prioritize food and shelter. Access to hygiene products remains crucial for maintaining personal cleanliness, promoting health, and enhancing self-esteem.
“Providing hygiene products alleviates a financial burden on families, allowing them to focus on other critical needs like purchasing food,” said Megan Bair, CEO of CSO. “This grant from International Paper helps us promote well-being and dignity among the most vulnerable in our community.”…
