William Colbert Bogusch, Jr., known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Temple, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, Bill’s strength and resilience in life were evident until the very end.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery, with the United States Army Military Honor Guard performing honors. There will be a celebration of life gathering at the family home following interment. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Bill, son of William Colbert Bogusch, Sr. and Marjorie Malinda Rosenbaum Bogusch, was born in Austin on May 6, 1952. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1970. Shortly after starting at the University of Texas, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Although he did not serve overseas, he continued to serve for over two decades in the Army Reserves. Bill was lovingly known to his army buddies as “Bo.” His service period was a significant chapter in his life, and it instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie.
