LAKELAND, Fla. – The Lakeland Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Imperial Swan Hotel & Suites, located at 4141 S. Florida Avenue, early Friday morning.
Firefighters arrived around 5:40 am to find an evacuation already underway, with audible alarms sounding throughout the building and water flowing from the sprinkler system in the second-floor room where the fire originated.
Fire crews quickly entered the building to ensure the safety of all occupants and contain the situation. Unfortunately, a dog was found deceased in the room where the fire originated. No other occupants were in the room at the time firefighters arrived…
