Cold holiday weekend ahead!

A cold front will move in later today, breaking up the inversion & clearing out valley haze.

A few snow showers are possible this evening, mainly up the canyons and over the mountains. Snow will mainly be across the north and is most likely late tonight into midday Saturday. In general, snow will be light with a trace to 2″ possible in the valleys and 1-6″ in the mountains. If lake effect develops, amounts could be higher SE of Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake. In that scenario, the Cottonwoods could pick up 6-12″. Fingers crossed!

The main impact will be the cold! Temps will drop lower than they have so far this season and might even bottom out in the single digits to teens in the mornings early next week! I think it’s time to throw another blanket on the bed!…
