The Porterville City Council will consider fees needed for the development of parks while also considering offering help to youth athletic programs when it comes to the use of current facilities. The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
When it comes to the parks impact fees charged to residences and non-residences to pay for the development of parks, the city has determined it can actually reduce fees. The proposed fee amounts are based on updated cost estimates for the construction of new parks and recreation facilities. The fees can’t be used to replace or maintain current facilities.
As it stands now the fee is $3.563 per square foot for single-family homes and $4.72 for multi-family residences. The city is proposing a fee of $3.175 per square foot for single-family homes and $4.206 for multi-family residences…
