WARREN, Pa. – The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch for the region beginning at 4 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2025.
The Watch runs until Noon on Wednesday, Jan. 22 for Warren and McKean Counties, and until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 for Forest and Venango Counties. Wind chill values of 30 below zero, and possibly more in higher elevations, are expected with this Watch.
“The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” the NWS said. “Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.”…
