Funeral services for James Howard “Speedy” Myers will be held 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Burial will follow at the Killeen City Cemetary.
Mostly known as Speedy, he lived a long and successful life in Bell County. He joined the Navy when he was 18, and boarded the Navy vessel the Minneapolis in 1945. After his military term, Speedy went into real estate and became one of the biggest investors in Bell County in the early 1950s.
