HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — The southeast Texas area, including the Houston area, will get more than an inch of snow, sleet and freezing rain during a winter storm set to arrive on Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Watch for the region, beginning on Monday at 6 p.m. until Tuesday at 6 p.m. They also said that a hard freeze is expected on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
A very cold week is on tap behind a series of strong cold fronts, with minimum temperatures near or below freezing this week. Some amount of snow/ice is likely across nearly all of southeast Texas beginning Monday night into Tuesday evening.
The Houston area is expected to receive about 2 inches of snow during the storm, with a worst-case scenario of about 4 inches. The NWS also said that about 0.01 inches of freezing rain is expected for the Houston area…
