Learn about going native with your landscaping and meet ‘Otter Man’ along with some local critters at The West Woods: Valley Views

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio —

Geauga Park District invites you to come inside Sunday, Jan. 26 at The West Woods Nature Center. From 1-2 p.m. meet Eddie Lagucki, lead horticulturalist at Lantern Court Estate at Red Oak Camp for a talk on landscaping with resilient native plants in a changing ecosystem and climate. He will discuss how local ecosystems have changed over time due to climate change and the cultivation of invasive plant species. He will address which tough native species can improve ecosystem health and withstand a warmer, less predictable climate. The program is presented in collaboration with The Native Plant Society of Northeastern Ohio.

Then from 3-4 p.m. the Nature Center is holding its first-ever Animal Ambassador Meet & Greet with the critters that live inside the park building. Naturalist Andy Avram will introduce you up-close to the animal ambassador team and provide insight into their lives…
