Phoenix, AZ – Gusty winds and potential blowing dust are expected to impact Arizona starting Monday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday morning, posing hazards for drivers along major highways. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Phoenix, wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph in lower elevations and up to 55 mph in higher terrain areas, creating dangerous travel conditions on I-10 and I-8.

NWS warns that visibility may be significantly reduced due to localized blowing dust, especially in desert areas. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should take extra precautions, as strong crosswinds could make travel hazardous. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items that could become airborne.
