Bernice King announces events for 40th annual King holiday observance

Rev. Bernice A. King, CEO of The King Center has announced a slate of activities to commemorate the 40th observance of the national King holiday, which honors her late father Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The civil rights leader would have been 96 years old.

“As we commemorate King holiday, let us recommit to the mission of protecting freedom, justice, and democracy for all,” Bernice King said. “We must stand together against injustice, protect the rights of the marginalized, and strive to create a community at peace with itself. Let us honor the legacy of my father, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”

King holiday events

  • 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20th, the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service will be held in person at Ebenezer Baptist Church and broadcast live on FOX 5 Atlanta. It will also stream live on Facebook, YouTube, and thekingcenter.org.
