Hedges and edges dominate talks on Temple Terrace’s new proposed fence rules

TEMPLE TERRACE — Temple Terrace is tackling its regulations on fences, the first of several revisions to the city’s land development codes it plans to address this year.

The proposed revisions, the first reading of which was presented to the City Council on Jan. 7, is designed to clean up some of the wording in the current codes and in general make the process less burdensome for residents. It is also intended to relax some of the restrictions the city has in place, particularly for corner lots.

“There were some edits that needed to be put in to clean up some areas that were not clearly defined, and in some cases, maybe even creating a bit of an internal conflict within the code,” said Greg Pauley, community development director. “But the most beneficial portion, in my opinion, that I think our community is going to benefit mostly from are those people who have residential properties on corner lots.”…
