Burlington set to open emergency cold weather shelter amid dropping temperatures

BURLINGTON, Vt. (myCV) – The City of Burlington has decided to open a cold weather emergency shelter this Tuesday, announced Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak.

The emergency shelter, located at the Robert Miller Community & Recreation Center, will be open Tuesday, January 21 through Wednesday, January 22.

With the state motel program at capacity, and temperatures dropping below zero, the city is “working in to ensure safe operation of this emergency shelter,” according to a written statement from the mayor’s office…
