Waterloo man tackled after leading police on foot chase following attempted traffic stop

WATERLOO — Police tackled and arrested a Waterloo man after he allegedly ran from police Friday.

Waterloo police attempted to pull over Tim Nix Jr., 29, at Ray’s Supermarket on Franklin Street for not having license plate lights. Nix then allegedly drove through an alley behind the building and drove about half a mile until stopping near Linden Avenue and Lafayette Street.

Police said he then got out of his car and ran east along Lafayette Street. An officer caught up to Nix on foot and tackled him to the ground and arrested him. In the confrontation, the officer sustained cuts to his elbow…
