BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The driver of the Jeep involved in a wrong-way crash that killed Navasota Police Department’s Sergeant Mark Butler last Wednesday was identified Monday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified the suspect as Kimberly Lannigan, 59, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
College Station police say they attempted to stop Lannigan’s vehicle after she tried to use a fake ID to cash a fraudulent check at a bank off Rock Prairie Road. Police and DPS troopers chased her vehicle south on Highway 6, but ended the pursuit after College Station police say Lannigan turned around at the Millican exit and began driving the wrong way.
