Three Hospitalized Following Stabbing in Waikiki; Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

Waikiki witnessed a harrowing incident early Saturday morning when a fight escalated into a stabbing that resulted in three people being rushed to the hospital. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services received a distress call around 4 a.m. and swiftly responded to the scene at Kalakaua Ave and Keoniana Street. According to Hawaii News Now, two men were initially engaged in an altercation that took a violent turn and ended in a stabbing.

The incident rapidly unfolded as a 42-year-old man and a 39-year-old man engaged in a fight, resulting in both individuals sustaining injuries. The older man, unfortunately, suffered stab wounds to his upper chest and urgently required life-saving treatment before being transported to the hospital in critical condition. The 39-year-old man endured stab wounds to his hands and was listed in serious condition. Amidst the chaos, a 21-year-old woman, who happened to be passing by the scene, got caught in the fray and was stabbed in the back, necessitating serious medical attention as conveyed by KHON2.

The Honolulu Police Department was quick to arrive at the scene and immediately began an investigation into the stabbing. They arrested the suspect, who was also the 42-year-old individual requiring life-saving treatment, on charges of attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the second degree.
