TOPSHAM, Maine (WGME) — Police say officers shot a man who was armed with a machete on the Merrymeeting Bridge in Topsham.
Police say they got a call from 33-year-old Joseph Mendez around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, thanking them for their service. He also said they “would be finding him soon.”
According to police, Topsham Police Officers Mathew Bowers and Frasier Vachon found Mendez on the Merrymeeting Bridge on Route 196.
