Joliet Police Investigate Crash At N. Broadway And Ruby Street

At 9:34 p.m. on Friday, Joliet police officers responded to Ruby Street and North Broadway Street for a traffic crash with injuries. A preliminary investigation of the crash determined the following: A Nissan Altima driven by a 34-year old male from Joliet was traveling westbound on Ruby Street when it struck a Lexus RX 350 driven by a 67-year male from Naperville, which was traveling northbound through the intersection on North Broadway Street at Ruby Street. The Nissan then struck a Kia Carnival driven by a 51-year old female from Joliet, which was stopped facing southbound on North Broadway at Ruby Street.

The collision with the Nissan caused the Lexus to collide into the front of a business located at 205 Ruby Street. The driver of the Nissan was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department with serious, but stable injuries. A female passenger of the Nissan, as well as the male driver and a female passenger of the Lexus were transported to St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash.
