SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — The principal of West High School , Dr. Jared Wright, officially announced his resignation Tuesday night, about a week after he had been placed on administrative leave.
In a statement posted to Facebook on Jan. 21, Wright said he has worked in the Salt Lake City School District at various schools throughout the past 20 years. He cited “pressing family obligations” as the reason behind his stepping down as principal after four and a half years at West High.
“I look forward to seeking other opportunities in the field of education when the time is right,” the statement reads. “I want to thank the Salt Lake City Board of Education for the opportunity to serve in these wonderful communities.”
