Cold start to Wednesday, but warming trend begins

While residents across the Gulf Coast states experienced record snowfall, North Texans faced extremely cold temperatures. A Cold Weather Advisory remained in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday and temperatures will warm with some potential rain by the weekend.

The bone-chilling cold continued to grip North Texas on Wednesday morning, with temperatures ranging from the upper teens to mid-20s across the area. Factoring in the south wind at 10 to 20 mph, the wind chill made it feel like single digits to low teens. Plenty of sunshine is expected Wednesday, with afternoon highs warming up to the mid-to-upper 40s.

A dry cold front is expected to shift southward Wednesday evening, keeping morning lows in the low to mid-20s Thursday and afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 40s. By Friday and Saturday, temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-to-upper 50s…
